Product Specifications

We offer folded leaflets a wide selection of paper sizes, paper types and paper weights.

Paper types

Glossy leaflets are a paper that is coated to produce a smooth high quality surface to print on. Litho print on this type of paper produces the most vibrant and highest definition of the paper types. Glossy leaflets are usually either Gloss or Silk finish. Silk is a little less reflective and is a usually a bulkier product for the same weight. Most digital runs are Silk. For Glossy leaflets choose 'Coated' paper types.

Matt leaflets are printed on paper without an additional coating. Matt leaflets have a finish more akin to the A4 paper you might use in an office. Although in all cases the paper we use is of high quality, and a superior standard to of finish to the copier paper. If the print process is Lithographic or Risographic then the paper surface and texture will be retained. If the print process is Digital then the fused ink will create a shiny layer on the paper (though not as shiny as a glossy leaflet). Digital is usually used for print runs below 2000, so if this is a concern for your order please get in touch.

This paper surface can be written on easily if the ink coverage of the page is not very high. So if you would like some portion of the leaflet to be completed by the recipient and returned then this is probably the appropriate paper type. For Matt leaflets choose 'Uncoated' paper types.

Paper weights

Our broad range of paper weights should fulfil your needs. The popular options that go straight to print are online and listed below. Some of our customers use paper types not listed here, and if you would like a paper type not listed here we are happy to help. Get in touch on the contact page, by email at support@piccadillyprint.co.uk or give us a call on 0161 833 3670.

170gsm Silk Coated

170gsm Gloss Coated

*Not shiny on Lithographic and Risographic print processes. Digital print processes create a fused layer of toner that is itself shiny on the surface of the paper. Digital print processes may be used for short runs, so if you want to avoid a shiny surface please get in touch with us before ordering.

Artwork Guidelines

We require print ready high resolution PDFs with a bleed area of 3mm and a safe area of 5mm.

More information is available on bleed and safe areas in our FAQs.

Spot colours

The spot colour will be approximated using the CMYK gamut. If you require a specific spot colour then you need to contact us prior to uploading the job to our website. Spot colours are available for Litho printing for large run jobs. We can have a spectrometer for digital print spot colour that allow for a better colour match.

Resizing

If you upload your artwork and select Just Print then our process may resize your PDF to fit the product size you have ordered if the PDF and the product size do not match. If you would prefer us to check the PDF manually then please select the Artwork Check option.
